We believe...
- In the One true and living God, eternally
existent in the Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the same in essence
and equal in attributes.
- The Holy Scriptures to be inerrant in their
original writings and that all Scripture has been given by inspiration of God;
that they are a record of God's progressive revelation of Himself and His
dealing with man; that they hold absolute authority in matters of life.
- That though man was created in the image of
God (Adam being created finitely good), through Adam's sin man is universally
and radically corrupt. Therefore, man is under the condemnation and judgment
of a holy and just God.
- That Jesus Christ is God manifested in the
flesh, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary,
and is completely God and completely man without sin; incapable of sinning.
- That salvation is totally of God in His
grace, and not by man's radically corrupt will or his works. Faith in the
saving work of Christ is the result of the work of grace in a sinners heart
and mind... of being born again by the Spirit of God.
- In the bodily resurrection of our LORD Jesus
Christ and His ascension to the throne of His Father where He sits a king and
priest forever reigning and where He advocates and intercedes for the saints.
- In the person of the Holy Spirit and His work
as He convinces men of sin and righteousness and judgment; in His abiding
presence with and in the believer and in His sanctifying work wherein we are
being changed into the image of Christ.
- In the imminent, personal, and pre-tribulational
return of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ to translate His own, the church,
from this earth to be with Him forever.
- In the premillenial second coming of our LORD
Jesus Christ and the resurrection of the just and the unjust - the one unto
the resurrection of life, the other unto the resurrection of damnation.
- That a visible church of Christ is a
congregation of believers, associated together by covenant faith and
fellowship of the gospel, sovereign in polity, observing the ordinances of
Christ, governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges
invested in them by His Word; that its only Scriptural officers are elders and
deacons. Its purpose is to worship and glorify God through the building up of
the saints and the making of disciples (often beginning with evangelization).
- That believers baptism is the immersion in
water of a believer, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; its
purpose is to show forth our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior,
and it signifies our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is
prerequisite for church membership.
- That the LORD's Supper is a memorial given to
the local church for the building up of believers by the use of bread and the
cup commemorating the death of Christ on behalf of sinners.
